Classic Gaming- X-Men Arcade: (1992)

X-Men arcade was one of the coolest beat em up games that one could possibly come across during the early 90’s.  The plot revolved around the general story of stopping Magento from terrorizing humanity.  Some people would say that X-men arcade is a repetitive side scrolling game which is similar to that of many other games during the early 90’s such as the Double Dragon along with the Final Fight series.  However, X-Men arcade was one of the few games where the cabinet had allowed up to a total of 6 players while others generally included four.  The development of a six player arcade game was something very special considering the fact that most titles were only limited to four.   X-Men arcade was also one of those games that many people knew would never get ported to Super Nintendo, Sega Genesis or even the original PlayStation after its release.

This multiplayer arcade game allows players to control Cyclops, Colossus, Storm, Nightcrawler, Wolverine and Dazzler.  The gameplay, graphics and overall visual presentation made this a very fun beat em up title to play in various arcade centers around the world along with the difficulty the game presented.  Even if you had your friends to assist you in completing the game you can almost bet that multiple coins are going to be used before the game is over.  When it comes down to boss battles many people would agree that similar to X-Men Mutant Apocalypse Magento is definitely the hardest boss in the game and is someone who is tough to defeat despite having the odds in your favor.  Along with most of the Super Nintendo & PlayStation titles X-Men Arcade is one of the coolest multiplayer games one will ever play and is among the best beat em up titles developed by Konami in the early 90’s.
