We all remember how much fun the original Dragon Ball Z Supersonic Warriors game was following its release for the Game Boy Advance in 2004. the second title was probably one of the coolest head to head fighting game to be featured on the Nintendo DS. Dragon Ball Z: Supersonic Warriors 2 was developed by ArcSystem & Cavia and released for during the mid 2000’s. While the original Supersonic Warriors was also a very fun title to play the sequel was even more interesting since it included more characters and game modes than the original. Dragon Ball Z Supersonic Warriors 2 feature many popular returning characters from the sequel including Goku, Vegeta, Gohan, Trunks and Piccolo along with some of the main villains including Frieza, Cell, Majin Buu and many others. One of the more exciting things about Supersonic Warriors 2 was the inclusion of some of DBZ non canon characters such as Broly and Cooler. On top of having non canon characters Supersonic Warriors as an excellent story mode that allows players to navigate between canon and non-canon arcs which was a great improvement over the prequel for the Game Boy Advance.
When it comes down to game modes Dragon Ball Z Supersonic Warriors 2 was simply fantastic because players could choose between Z Battle, Story, Free Battle Practice, Versus, and Maximum Mode. Also there were new added features that made the gameplay more exciting including Double Team attacks, Power Beam struggles and Ultimate K.O.’s. Also having a 3D like background was also pretty nice because it made people feel as if they were playing a game on the Nintendo 64 during the late 90’s. Despite, how the fact that Dragon Ball Z Supersonic Warriors 2 is a solid fighting game some people might argue that it does not get as much credit as it truly deserves. While there have been DBZ titles released on various consoles during the 00’s including the PS2, GameCube, Xbox and the PS3 some might argue that those games overshadow the likes of Dragon Ball Z Supersonic Warriors 2. Supersonic Warriors 2 might not be the most popular Dragon Ball Z game that we have ever seen but its definitely a solid fighting title for the Nintendo DS and a title that people can spend countless hours on if they are a true fan of the series.
