Classic Gaming- Marvel vs. Capcom 2: (2000)

We all remember this exciting sequel to one of the best crossover fighting games Marvel vs. Capcom in 1998.  Marvel vs. Capcom 2 was released in 2000 by the same developer.  This game had featured a much larger roster than than the original game.  This title allows you to play as countless characters from various different Marvel and Capcom games that was popular throughout the 90’s.  Marvel vs. Capcom 2 was every fighting gamer’s dream if they were not fans of Soul Caliber or Tekken.  Marvel vs. Capcom 2 had allowed players to switch  between three characters in battles instead of two which many people had praised.  Also, this game had included exciting new stages along with a new final boss known as Abyss.  While many people might argue that Abyss is one of the most difficult bosses in the series other would stress that he is not as tough as the likes of Apocalypse and Onslaught.

While this game is very enjoyable for both arcade and versus mode it has received criticism its use of old character sprites among some other glitches.  This game has often be compared to M.U.G.E.N. in some respects because it takes various characters from different titles and places them into one game. Even though, Marvel vs. Capcom 2 was a fun game the 1998 prequel appeared to have more substance despite having a smaller roster of characters to chose from.  Overall, Marvel vs. Capcom 2 was a classic for many individuals who are fans of the series that only improved when the third installment was released in 2011.
